How you can help

Making a donation

Much of the money that the Grassmarket Mission is able to use comes from the generous donations we received from our benefactors. Every penny of the money you give goes towards making a difference to people’s lives. We depend on the kindness, consideration and generosity of people to help us provide our vital support.

There are many ways you can make a donation to support our work and we are grateful for all donations, in any format and of any denomination.

If you wish to contribute, please contact our treasurer at enquiries@grassmarketmission.org.

You can donate online via the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF):

You can also send a cheque payable to “The Grassmarket Mission”, addressed to The Treasurer at our registered address:

Please remember to tell us who you are, so that we can thank and acknowledge your donation.

Gift Aid

The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. Charities take your donation – which is money you’ve already paid tax on – and reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.

You can download our Gift Aid Declaration form today and send it on to us at the address listed above:

Legacy – remember the Mission in your Will

Leaving gifts in your will is a significant decision, and we recognise and respect that family and loved ones come first. After providing for those you care for, you may wish to leave a gift to The Grassmarket Mission. We promise that all gifts, whatever the size, are used by us to make a real difference for people. They enable our charity to fund sustainable activities so your gift keeps on giving.

Any gift you leave to The Grassmarket Mission will be treated with respect and sensitivity, recognising your privacy at all times.

Your gift will also be managed efficiently so it has the greatest impact. Should you wish, you can choose how your gift is used by specifying what service or project you wish it to be involved in.

You have the right to change your mind about your gift at any time in the future. A solicitor is recommended in the drafting of a will. If you do wish to leave a gift to The Grassmarket Mission, the following information can be used:
